Sea buckthorn is a perennial shrub of the Sucker family. The fruits are orange or reddish, they are densely arranged and, as it were, “cling” to the branches. The fruit has a spherical or elongated shape.
Vitamin composition
The composition of sea buckthorn berries contains:
- Choline;
- Fatty acids;
- Vitamins C, B₁, B₂, E;
- Folic acid;
- Carotenoids;
- Malic and tartaric acids;
- Tannins.
Effect
Berries have anti-inflammatory, laxative properties, promote wound healing, stimulate tissue regeneration, improve tissue metabolism and strengthen blood vessels. They are widely used for the treatment of tumors. Berries also neutralize the harmful effects of antibiotics and toxins.
Dosage regimen
Experts believe that the most health-friendly daily dose of sea buckthorn fruits is 50-100 g, and the juice from them is 100 ml. Berries are best taken after meals.
Side effect
Allergic reactions are possible. With prolonged use, there may be a feeling of bitterness in the mouth, diarrhea, biliary colic.
Contraindications to use
Hypersensitivity, cholecystitis, cholangitis, pancreatitis, hepatitis, cholelithiasis, children under 12 years of age.
