Coconut oil is a product obtained from the fruits of the coconut palm. The oil is extracted from copra, that is, coconut pulp, by cold or hot pressing. Of course, the cold-pressing method is preferable, since it allows you to save the maximum of useful elements. Coconut oil has a very rich composition of saturated fats, which makes it considered one of the best for frying. When exposed to heat, fats retain their structure, which other vegetable oils enriched with polyunsaturated fatty acids cannot boast of.

TIPS FOR USING COCONUT OIL

  • After opening the vessel, it should be stored tightly closed in the refrigerator.
  • When using coconut oil in complex therapy for an adult, it is worth adhering to the norm — taking 1 tablespoon in the morning and evening. It is recommended to start daily consumption of oil with 1 teaspoon (morning and evening), gradually increasing the daily dose of this product to 2 tablespoons. To improve digestion and cleanse the intestines, you can drink a mixture of warm boiled water with pre-melted coconut oil in an amount of 1-2 tablespoons. To get rid of excess weight and prevent obesity, it is recommended to drink 1 glass of warm water before each meal with the addition of 1 tablespoon of coconut oil melted in a water bath.To facilitate breathing during a cold, mix coconut oil, tea tree oil and rosemary in equal proportions. Lubricate the chest and nose skin with the resulting mixture.
  • In cooking, coconut oil is seasoned with salads from fresh vegetables, and is also used to prepare dishes from meat, shrimp, rice and vegetables with the addition of curry and other oriental spices. The special culinary advantages of coconut oil include its high resistance to oxidation and heat resistance. The oil does not lose its high qualities and useful properties when heated to a high temperature, and therefore can be used for frying and deep-frying dishes, representing a worthy alternative to butter. Due to its exquisite tropical aroma, coconut oil is best suited for making sweet pastries, casseroles, pancakes, etc. It is also recommended to add coconut oil to cereals, milk soups, coffee, hot chocolate, and various baby food dishes.
  • In cosmetology, it is enough for women with age-related skin to apply pure oil to cleansed skin only 1 time a day, including the area around the eyes and lips. The effect will be enhanced by a small massage along the main lines of the face. The oil can be used to enrich various creams, masks, balms, tonics and lotions. Before adding, the oil should be melted in a water bath at a temperature no higher than 40-45oC. If you want to achieve a greater moisturizing effect, then you can apply the oil on wet skin. It is useful to take the oil with you to the bath and rub the body. To give smoothness and shine to the hair, distribute a drop of oil over the palms and apply evenly to clean, damp hair (special attention can be paid to the ends of the hair). However, if your hair is prone to greasiness, then this method will not work. Since you, on the contrary, will get the effect of dirty hair. To moisturize your hair once a week, apply coconut oil to your hair 30 minutes before shampooing, gently rubbing it into a strand.
  • For dandruff, apply coconut oil to the scalp at night, rinse in the morning.
  • Coconut oil is also suitable for oral care. Systematic rinsing of the oral cavity with oil for 10-15 minutes makes it possible to noticeably whiten teeth and strengthen gums. And if you mix it with soda and essential oils, you will get an excellent toothpaste.
